I am wondering about job interviews and admissions to university

I am writing on other blogs about job interviews I have recently had and my grad school admission decisions.

New carpentry tools.

I got some new tools, including power tools. I got a circular saw, a small angle grinder, a small cordless screw driver, and had gotten a jig saw in the winter. I also got a tool belt with suspenders and lot of tool pockets. I also got some new pliers, dust masks, ear plugs but still need an extra set of safety googles in terms of safety equipment. I am building a frame which will be covered in plastic netting to keep pigeons off our balcony. I have the wood and fittings I need for this project. I need to charge up my cordless drill for this work still.

Printers need shredders which make trees into trash.

I don't know if all this reading is that great or all this writing. I tend to print a lot of stuff and then keep it around forever. I now need to shred 1000's of pieces of paper and trash it all. I am being threatened with eviction if I do not clean up our apartment.

I have been admitted to a graduate program in systems science at the University of Ottawa.

I am going to the University of Ottawa in the fall. I will be studying systems science. In a way systems science is the same age as me. I have read about and understood the systems view of the world for decades now.

I bought a used Powerbook for my wife's publisher.

I get a feeling of being some powerful writer because I support my wife's publisher with computer parts and computers. He pays for these things. But I am financing it for him. I picked it out after he accepted my suggestion that he try out Macintosh computers.

I also did another microloan for my wife's best friend buying her an air conditioner and we will be paid back for this on Monday.

Hackers as a role for film.

And why is it that hackers are armed in movies? I just watched some of the third Matrix: the Revolution film. May be I am being culturally critical. I don't see why hackers need to be armed unless they are US hackers or hackers for films where sex and guns sell the movie. It seems most films I end up watching are full of guns and death.

I got my Macbook now and this is my first post to this blog using this new Apple laptop.

It is a fun to have new things. but really this is farily embarrassing materialism. This computer was probably made by underpaid labour in China. I do know that it was shipped from China.
