A well written report from a media company which includes His Holiness The Dali Lama and many other voices pleading to stop the Nuclear agenda. I found the plea by a native women from Kokotha Nation to be heartbreaking. This book has history of the original bombs and history of the peace movement as well as an interesting angle on the mining and environmental consequences of the Nuclear industry.

A Conference report from the mid eighties, with mostly doctors presenting their views and the range of issues that were then present in the Nuclear picture.
 
 

• Waging Peace {1993}

 

 

A collection of essays by ministers and lay people which has prayers and tactics of protest for the peace movement. There is a map of the Nuclear power station locations in the USA in one essay and a few of the essays cover the East West situation. I made a donation to get this book and it was provided by the Ottawa Peace and Environment Resource Centre(PERC) at the an annual march.

This book is a diagnosis and prognosis for ending the Nuclear threat. Written by a psychiatrist.
 
 

 

This book explores the various agreement in nuclear diplomacy and suggests that the USA unilaterally disarm. It also explores the ideals of both superpower nations as reasons for the conflict. Written by a Jewish medieval scholar.
 
 

• The Nuclear Survival Handbook {1988}

 

 

This book is appropriate for building bomb shelters and having all you need socially, psychologically and materially to survive a Nuclear war, if your lucky to be a survivor.
 
 

This book was a beginning of the curriculum change over to peace studies and non-violence in schools as it was a political geography textbook in my course in 1987. It covers treaties made about the bomb in South America and also some look at the fear involved in submarine cold warfare in the worlds oceans. Taught with espionage handling techniques and classic geographic theorists. We also participated in a mock trial structured around the World Court in the Hague. The theories and techniques were learned during study of the colonial aspects of the English world.
 
 
• Last Aid {1983}

 

 

A book with many leaders of the seventies world both civilian and military. The book is sponsored by the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War. The book includes essays with maps about the effects of Nuclear weapons on human populations and the globe. I gave this one to an Army doctor with much Middle East theatre experience. I also volunteer locally with the Physicians for Global Survival.
 
 

• Optical Mineralogy {1980}

 

 

This book is not actually about Nuclear sciences but helped me to discuss Zeolite. Zeolite I discovered along with others will keep a hot molecule inside it's molecular structure. Zeolite is now used by the US army to make lids for waste in old test areas like the Philippines. The book is about polarising microscopes and has a list of minerals and their properties.
 
 

• A Canticle for Leibowitz {1973}

 

 

A science fiction book read in the grade ten year. Involves a post nuclear war planet as setting and even includes mutants.
