Ok Ok this page has been under construction for too long. I am going to put some more stuff here now. I had hoped to focus on scientific computing, because mostly what I study at school is science. I hoped that would add some validity, to what I could offer you the web user. But closed mindedness is not my style and there wasn't much to write. So I am going to use this page, to use the "I", and am going to include more detailed information about my computer science projects. I have used many tech help pages written on the net, so see the value of having my technical knowledge/experiences on the web for others to use. I make no assurances that anything here will work for you.Visit my computer blog for more info about computers. www.crystalcomputing.blogspot.com

[This next paragraph and the table are out of date. The super computer has been dismantled. I have sold everything in the table except for three computers. The IBM 325 is now running WinNT 4.0 and Red Hat 9 dual boot. The Quadra with no OS is just sitting around here still, and the HP 486 is still here]
As I write this I have 12 computers in my home. I have functioning super computer or cluster now. It functions with an IBMPC 325 server as a masternode(the blue row). There are two IBM 300 PL's as the salve nodes 1 & 2. I have been learning about Linux all year. But I am a lee-nooks newbie, and don't do a lot of programming these days. While that means slow progress, I have been learning recently( Spring 2002) a number of things about Beowulf clusters, linux, and hardware. You could say this page is a result of me using Linux or reading about Linus Torvalds or reading about open source at www.flora.org a community server, or reading a post last year on slashdot. Or it could be that I am finished my first degree at school and so have time to get back to working on the web and this web page in particular. I think I have made over one hundred web pages by now. This fall I have been studying some matrices and have been preparing some code out of an old math book to work with f77. I am thinking of running Maple in some way on the super cluster instead of f77.I have studied the equivalent of a first year in an engineering program back in 1978-79 at McMaster a top Canadian University. Before that I was taught to draft and do simple electrical work. I had also made a few electronics kits when young. I had been through the science wars with artist friends and my own soul. So, I have no certainties about technology; but doubt helps science and technology progress. I regard the human as more important particularly the social and well being where assertiveness is better than doubt. Even though, I am often wrong in in science, technology, art, and life, I still like to tinker.
There is a list of subjects and the tools that I used to work and present data for these subjects in school courses.
I am working on a few Linux installs besides the above. One is Debian 3.0 on a Thinkpad 360SC. You can read about it here <debian3-0Thinkpad360sc.html>
