Margarite Liberte's Engineering Career in Eve Online.

Margarite flew her Iteron Mark V to haul minerals while 4 mining pilots mined. She kept up well and almost never fell behind. They mined three asteroid belts and it took about five hours.

This evening Margarite finished training Drones to level 5. She has four drone skill books ready to train now but she can only train three of these right away. These are Drone Interfacing which she bought tonight, Gallente Drone Specialization and Minmatar Drone Specialization. Both of which she had purchased a while ago. She also bought Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing but she still needs to training Electronic Warfare higher before she can train this Drone skill.

A few weeks ago weeks ago she finished training Frigates to level 5. This lead to her buying an Ishkur and Keres. For the Keres she needed to buy Electronic Attack Ships, which she trained to level 1.

She also just bought and is presently training to level 1 the Missile skill Target Navigation Prediction.

There are three Helios setups in the Battle Clinic builds that Margarite is planning on. All use Covert Ops Clocking Device II's which looks like the most expensive piece of ship's equipment for these builds. For the smaller items of ship's equipment Margarite is buying these or building them. This evening she bought a blueprint for a Scan Probe Launcher 1 and built one and then started some material research on the same blueprint. She will research this blueprint and then donate the blueprint to her corp. She also bought a Recon Probe Launcher 1, in fact, she bought three of them. She also bought the blueprint for a Recon Probe Launcher 1 and will again donate this to her corporation after doing the research on it. She also fitted a Residual Scanner 1 and a cargo expander 1 on the Helios this evening.

She has not started setting up her Ishkur yet. Her Keres is being built now this weekend. After this her next ship next weekend is a Viator. She can afford the Keres but the Viator is 32 million ISK plus the transports skill book of 25 million ISK.

Margarite did complete step one in her business plan. She was able to turn 15 million ISK into 25 million. But making 40 tractor beams took her a while and she needed to borrow from her corp to make the 40. These are still not all sold but 40 were made. So Step two is still not completed. She has been able to start step 3 and has built about 35 of the 60 tractor beams. She also has all of the 35 for sale or sold. But she will not be able to make the jump to 100 tractor beams so step 4 may not happen. In fact, her plan now is to pay for an Ishkur her corp is building for her. This new attack frigate should be ready today. Her next ship will be a Keres. She is also now flying her Helios but it is not yet outfitted.

Margarite completed the first part of step one in her business plan and it worked. She was able with 15 million ISK to buy enough minerals to make 25 small tractor beams. She set these for sale on Monday and had sold two of them by the time the system came off line for the new expansion. The fact that she has to sell these Small Tractor Beams at each step will basically control the speed of execution of her business plan. Until these first 25 tractor beams are sold she can not move on to the next step, step two.

Margarite told another corp member her plan and he told her that the corp has no need for Obelisks and Jump Freighters. So she has changed step six in the plan. Here is the current first seven steps. This plan, if it works through the first seven steps will be continued with the goal of buying and flying a carrier ship. Of course, she will adjust the plan after crunching carriers with Eve Monitor.

1. Buy enough minerals to make 25 tractor beams and sell these for 25 million ISK
2. Buy enough minerals to make 40 tractor beams and sell these for 40 million ISK
3. Buy enough minerals to make 70 tractor beams and sell these for 70 million ISK
4. Buy enough minerals to make 130 tractor beams and sell these for 130 million ISK
5. Buy enough minerals to make 200 tractor beams and sell these for 200 million ISK
6. Buy the skill book for flying transports and buy two ships one Occator and one Viator.
7. Start again.

Margarite has a growth plan that should work if she can continue to buy minerals and make more ISK then she starts with by building Small Tractor Beams. Her plan includes about 20 steps, where she ends up supporting a learning plan that allows her to buy the skill books for Advanced Space Command, Freighters, and Transports. If this business plan works she will move on to the skill books for Jump Freighters, and finally Titans. All the training with be about 200 days but some of the training will only be a few hours once she has a few hundred million ISK to buy the skill books. Her plan with the twenty steps should allow her also to buy an Obelisk and a Gallente transport ship or two. The 200 day training plan allows Titans and clocking devices for these ships. So the 20 step plan does not buy the Titans or the Titans skill book but does allow her ISK growth to about one billion ISK and supports the purchases of Freighters and Transports.

Of course, following this plan may not be easy. Here is the plan:

1. Buy enough minerals to make 25 tractor beams and sell these for 25 million ISK
2. Buy enough minerals to make 40 tractor beams and sell these for 40 million ISK
3. Buy enough minerals to make 70 tractor beams and sell these for 70 million ISK
4. Buy enough minerals to make 130 tractor beams and sell these for 130 million ISK
5. Buy enough minerals to make 200 tractor beams and sell these for 200 million ISK
6. Buy the skill books Advanced Space Command and Freighters
7. Buy enough minerals to make 75 tractor beams and sell these for 75 million ISK
8. Buy enough minerals to make 120 tractor beams and sell these for 120 million ISK
9. Buy enough minerals to make 200 tractor beams and sell these for 200 million ISK
10. Buy enough minerals to make 300 tractor beams and sell these for 300 million ISK
11. Buy enough minerals to make 300 tractor beams and sell these for 300 million ISK
12. Save 150 million ISK
13. Buy enough minerals to make 200 tractor beams and sell these for 200 million ISK
14. Buy enough minerals to make 300 tractor beams and sell these for 300 million ISK
15. Save 150 million ISK.
16. Buy a second Small Tractor Beam BP.
17. Buy enough minerals to make 300 tractor beams and sell these for 300 million ISK
18. Buy enough minerals to make 300 tractor beams and sell these for 300 million ISK
19. Buy enough minerals to make 600 tractor beams and sell these for 600 million ISK
20. Buy an Obelisk Freighter
21. Start again.

They said it would happen and it did. Margarite was in a system picking up minerals and because her corporation was at a war she became a target. It took less than 30 seconds for her ship to be destroyed and she barely warped away in her pod to safety. Nanobot the enemy pilot had been spotted in system earlier and Margarite should not have undocked. So it was her mistake too. She lost about 11 million ISK of minerals in the attack. Her Iteron Mark V was destroyed. The irony is this was a mineral run to make 25 tractor beams which she was going to sell for 25 million and then she would have been able to buy the transports skill book. These transport ships are armored versions of the Iteron and had she been in one of these ships she might have been able to escape with her ship.
